What is God asking us to do?

flower-deliveryIs God talking to you and you are asking why He is asking you to do what He is asking?

Often we feel God is speaking to us, but deny it is God and put the feeling on a shelf to lay our heads on our pillow to ponder about what we are feeling.

We think we do not have the talent to follow through on what God is telling us to have faith to pursue. We tell our self, “tomorrow” I will think about it. Or we secretly ask our self if we really have the talent to do what God is laying on our hearts to do.

Let me give you a couple things to think about.

  1. God will provide the way. If you are meant to blog to other women and your writing is absolutely horrible. Hold on. God will give you the words. He will provide you avenues to improve your writing. It is your job to just be open to the possibility.  I honestly feel God uses our words for His purpose, not because we have talent!
  2. God already has the tools available. If you are meant to paint for God and feel you do not have the time, space or inspiration. Wait upon the Lord and He will open each door for you. You are being prepared now. Take each step in faith. The light will be clear.
  3. God will let you know when it is time. If you feel a tugging in your heart, right now, just ask God to start preparing you. The time might not be NOW, but later. Just do not close the door to Him now thinking you are not ready. You will know.

I truly believe God had a plan for each of us, a season for His perfect work to be performed in each of us. If our season is when we are 50, 60 or 20, HE will provide the tools for us at the right time. I think many times we feel a calling and get scared that we do not have the tools to do what we fell God wants us to do. But God might need some time to prepare us for his glorious work. College classes, a couple years of marriage, troubled times in a relationship might all be canvass for God to prepare us for the beautiful painting yet to come.

Never close the door. Write down your feelings, look in the Bible for verses that you feel God wants you to read, be aware of your surroundings for what God has to prepare you. You will know.

Read Psalms 139 …. Below is the King James verson.

You Have Searched Me and Know Me

1{To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.} O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me.

2Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.

3Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.

4For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.

5Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.

6Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

7Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

8If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

9If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

10Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

11If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.

12Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

13For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.

14I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

15My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

16Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

17How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!

18If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

19Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.

20For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.

21Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?

22I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.

23Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

24And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

I love you all.  You are in my life for a reason.
